Everyone can make

We all began somewhere. But getting started in making can be a steep learning curve: new terminology, different ways of understanding technological problems, and assumptions about difficulty could all be barriers to real public engagement in the age of open design and personal manufacturing.

At the Faire, we’ll be running quick, fun, 5-minute activities where young and old visitors get involved in designing better ‘ways in’ to making, from new forms of instruction manual to exploring the possibilities of modular components. The results will help the Artefact Café project, aiming to turn non-makers into makers through easy guided access to tools.
